Not only did the roofline of the new public toilet have to echo Carterton’s historic look and feel – the entrance had to be welcoming and visible from both footpath and bus stop. The site, located on a busy main road, called for swift installation and other requirements included 24-hour access and storage for cleaning equipment.

PermaLoo created a 5-pan user-friendly wheelchair-accessible public toilet, using two multi-units with the space in between creating the cleaner’s storage. A gabled roof with front shelter feature perfectly fitted in with the surrounding architecture.
The toilet took just three days to install, and the people of Carterton are justifiably proud of their easy-to-maintain and robust public toilet.
“We wanted strong, structured toilets that were affordable, attractive and vandal-proof. After talking with Ryan from PermaLoo, he showed that they could help. They were excellent. They listened to what we wanted.”
